1. Driver Age and License
Age Limits: The driver must be at least 19 years old for categories A, B, C and over 21 years old for larger categories. The maximum age limit is 75 years. Driving License: A valid driving license issued at least 1 year prior to the rental date is required. Non-EU citizens must also present an International Driving Permit.
2. Deposit and Payment
Credit Card: A credit card in the driver’s name is required for deposit authorization (deposit). Deposit Amount: The amount is blocked at pick-up and fully released after the return of the vehicle, provided there are no damages or additional charges. Advance Payment: A 25% deposit is required to confirm the booking.
3. Insurance Coverages
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): The renter is liable for damages to the Tsolas-Rental vehicle up to the excess amount of €500 and an administration fee of €30 Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW): With an additional daily cost, the excess can be reduced to minimal or zero and an administration fee of €30 What is NOT covered: No insurance covers damage to the underbody, wheels, tyres, glass, the interior of the vehicle, as well as loss of keys.
Negligence Clause & Insurance Invalidation
Insurance coverage (including SCDW - Full Waiver) becomes void and the renter is fully responsible for the total value of damages or replacement of the vehicle if: The driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication affecting driving. The vehicle is driven by a person not declared in the rental agreement. The damage was caused intentionally or by gross negligence (e.g. running a red light, driving in the opposite direction, ignoring a STOP sign). The vehicle is driven on non-asphalt roads, beaches, salt flats or forest roads.
Accident Handling & Immobilization Fee
Accident File Fee: In any case of an accident caused by the renter, a one-time charge of €50 applies for administrative handling. Loss of Use Compensation: In case the vehicle is immobilized due to an accident caused by the customer, Tsolas-Rental reserves the right to charge the renter for the days the vehicle remained in the workshop, based on the current daily rental rate.
4. Fuel Policy
Same-to-Same: The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as received. In case of lower fuel level, the renter is charged the difference plus a fixed Refuelling Service Fee of €20.
5. Usage Restrictions
Off-road: Driving on non-asphalt roads is strictly prohibited. In such case, all insurance coverages are void. Ferry Transport: Allowed only with written approval from Tsolas-Rental. Any damages during transport are not covered by any insurance. Smoking: Smoking inside the vehicles is prohibited. In case of odor or stains, a cleaning charge of €100 applies.
6. Fines and Penalties
All traffic fines and administrative penalties are fully borne by the renter. Tsolas-Rental charges an additional €20 for administrative handling of the fine.
7. Cancellations
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pick-up. For cancellations less than 48 hours, the deposit is non-refundable and the 25% is not refunded whether the payment was made by card, cash or bank transfer.
8. Delivery and Return
The vehicle is delivered clean and in excellent mechanical condition. In case the vehicle is returned excessively dirty requiring special cleaning, the renter is charged the relevant cost which is €100.
10. Mechanical Damage & Interior Responsibility
Clutch misuse: The renter is fully responsible for the destruction of the clutch caused by improper use (e.g. continuous slipping on uphill roads). Wrong fuel: In case of filling the tank with the wrong type of fuel, the renter is charged the full cost of engine cleaning, towing and repair. Interior damages: Burns from cigarettes, tears in upholstery or permanent stains are charged according to the official dealership price list.
11. Cross-Border Movement & Ferry Transport
Cross-border movement: Taking the vehicle outside the borders of Greece is strictly prohibited. In case of violation, a penalty of €2,000 is imposed and the contract is terminated with immediate removal of the vehicle. Ferry: Transport by ferry is allowed only with the issuance of the special coverage "Ferry Insurance". Without it, any damage occurring at the port or onboard the vessel is fully charged to the renter.
12. Personal Data & GPS Systems
The renter is informed and accepts that for security reasons and protection of Tsolas-Rental property, some vehicles may be equipped with GPS tracking systems, which are activated in case of theft or violation of agreed geographic limits.
13. Early Return & Extension
Early Return: In case the renter returns the vehicle earlier than the agreed end date, no refund is provided for the remaining period. Extension: Any extension must be requested in writing at least 24 hours before expiration. If the renter fails to return the vehicle and has not notified, Tsolas-Rental will proceed with a misappropriation report to the authorities.
Personal Data Protection Policy (GDPR)
1. What data we collect
For the execution of the rental agreement, Tsolas-Rental collects: Identification Data: Full name, ID/Passport Number, Driving License Number. Contact Details: Home address, phone number, email. Payment Data: Credit/debit card details. Location Data: Some vehicles are equipped with GPS systems for security and fleet protection purposes.
2. Purpose of Processing
Your data is used exclusively for: Issuing the rental agreement and legal documents (invoices/receipts). Communicating with you regarding your booking. Transmitting data to authorities in case of traffic violation or accident. Protecting the legitimate interests of our company (e.g. in case of vehicle misappropriation).
3. Data Retention Period
Your data is retained for as long as required by tax legislation (usually 10 years) or as long as necessary for the establishment of legal claims.
4. Disclosure to Third Parties
Tsolas-Rental does not sell or rent your data. It may only be shared with: Public authorities (Police, Municipalities) when legally requested. Partner insurance companies in case of an accident. External partners (e.g. accounting office, legal advisor) bound by confidentiality clauses.
5. Your Rights
According to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to: Access: To know what data we hold about you. Correction: To request correction of incorrect data. Erasure ("Right to be forgotten"): To request deletion, provided there is no legal obligation to retain it. Portability: To receive your data in digital format.
